LAST UPDATED 03-NOV-2005 13:22 Pacific Time (Greenwich-8) September 2005 Photoshop Marathon results As of this writing, 43 people finished the Marathon, of more than 200 who entered at least one contest. If we've made a mistake or if you're a late finisher in the next day or two, please send an e-mail and we'll include you later. An awfully official-looking "I finished the Photoshop Marathon" medallion image will be available in the next few days to hotlink into your bio and brag to your neighbours (hosting courtesy of IHA). Thanks to sofashark for helping me compile the results. cheers, UPDATE: a few late finishers have been added.
Photoshop Marathon Guidelines The Photoshop Marathon event is a personal challenge to enter ten consecutive photoshop contests on Fark.com. It is a test of creativity under adverse conditions, because you probably won't like all the contest themes or original images. The point is to enter regardless. You may find yourself breaking out of old creative habits (aka: ruts) by forcing yourself to do this. Your mileage may vary. You must post at least one voting-enabled entry in all ten threads to have completed the marathon. This is the only real rule. NSFW entries count, but please observe the Photoshop FArQ. It is more in the spirit of the challenge to complete all ten entries within a finite time, but the time limit will not be enforced. Have fun. Challenge yourself. : generous TotalFarker snikrepkire has offered to reward the winner (by votes) in the Fark Lite category with a one-month sponsorship!
Photoshop "tennis" involves a series of images that sequentially build upon one another. Beginning from an original image, individuals will:
Tennis sometimes happens within Photoshop threads on the Fark.com main page, but more often happens
in TotalFark threads that are accessible only to subscribers. Announce tennis threads in the
Photoshop Forum.
Send an e-mail to feedback It is customary to disable voting in any Photoshop entry based on someone else's work, and therefore to never enable voting within a round of tennis. If the image quality degrades after a long round of tennis, you might choose to "reboot" by reintroducing the original. There are more artful ways to do this than simply reporting the original, so use your creativity. If a tennis thread gets very long, and therefore takes a long time to load, you might consider linking to a new thread to continue. You should probably link back from the new thread to the old thread,so that continuity is maintained in both directions. |
